Richard passed away on Tuesday 5th March 2019 after what can only be described as a valiant and defiant battle with the cancer with which he had been originally diagnosed in March 2017. After receiving a terminal diagnosis in late January 2019, St. Catherine's Hospice became a source of great help and support for not only Richard, but also his nearest and dearest. Without this support, it would not have been possible for Richard to have remained at home until his passing, which was of great value to him, and his family. Richard expressed his wish that donations be made in his memory to support St. Catherine's in continuing to provide and expand upon the service they provide to those who find themselves in similar situations.
